Upcoming Titles To Look Out For!

Welcome back everyone to my esteemed blog.  It’s been an idle couple of weeks, mainly due to the preparation of my Clicker costume for ACEN next month.  There is also work and the gym that seem to intervene.  That being said, it’s time to keep the gaming news and reviews going.

Many gamers I assume have had their hands busy with several new titles, including Dark Souls 2, Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster, and Bravely Default.  I’m here to give you an update on what’s coming up in the next few months.  Without further adieu, let us begin.

Three games on the radar:

Conception 2:  This is a unique dungeon-crawler RPG from the creators of Persona.  It’s a rather unique title, one that will be next on my to review list.  If you’re familiar with Persona 4, then you will definitely have to check this out!  Conception 2 launches April 15th for the Vita and 3DS.

Child of Light:  Ubisoft is bringing a visually stunning RPG entitled Child of Light available for digital download on PS3, PS4, Wii U, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox 360 at the end of this month.  It is literally an interactive poem that you are in control of.  You play as Aurora a princess on a quest to restore the lost sources of light from the sun, moon, and stars-and put an end to the culprit, the black queen.  Child of Light is available for download on April 30th.

The Last of Us Remastered:  Yes folks, the game that won 200 game of the year awards is now being remastered exclusively for the Playstation 4.  The Last of Us Remastered will be brought in 1080p with better character models, shadows and backgrounds, and the complete expansion sets, including Left Behind.  It is scheduled for release this summer, but no exact release date has yet been given.

We have quite a few games to look forward to this spring and summer, so start planning on breaking your piggy banks over the next few months.  I will definitely be reviewing these games upon their release so stay tuned, and as always-thanks for your continued support and spread the word about my blog.  Happy Gaming!

Sly Cooper Thieves in Time Review: The old gang is back…in time!

sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-charactersWelcome back dear friends to my amazing blog.  With the sugary, sweet, diabetic inducing holiday of Valentine’s Day less than a week away, I figured a sweet review is more than deserved.

It has been nearly eight years since Sly Cooper 3 made it’s debut on the Playstation 2 console.  It left fans wondering if there would be another installment to this amazing franchise on the Playstation 3 console.  Well fear not because Sony is putting our worries at ease with the newest edition to the Sly Cooper franchise Sly Cooper Thieves in Time for the Playstation 3.

People have been very skeptical about this recent release since it was developed by Sanzaru and not Sucker Punch (developers of Sly 1-3).  So the question on everyone’s mind is, can Sanzaru pull off a beautiful game as well as Sucker Punch?  Let’s review shall we?

Graphics:  The graphics of Sly are definitely top notch.  The animated cut scene introduction is well done, not to mention funny.  The cell shaded detail of the characters will definitely have Sly fans jumping for joy.  Score: 9/10

Gameplay:  Believe it or not, fans will be praising Sanzaru for the keeping the old style gameplay of Sly and adding a few new tricks to the roster.  The difficulty of Sly is slightly amped, especially when it comes to finding the clue bottles to unlock the safe.  The story of Sly is beautifully done, and Sanzaru should be commended for keeping in the roots of the original story, and not getting lofty visions and coming out with some way out story that doesn’t make sense or damages the franchise.  Score: 9.5/10

Sound:  The original voices of the Sly Cooper gang are back in high gear along with a soundtrack that stays true to the theme of the Sly Cooper world.  A definite accomplishment.  Score: 9/10

Sanzaru did an excellent job at taking the helm where Sucker Punch left off.  Sly Cooper Thieves in Time is a definite must for those who have remained true to the series.

Final Score: 9/10

As always friends, your feedback is welcomed and appreciated.  Don’t forget to stay up to date with all the latest in gaming news and reviews by following my blog and telling your friends about me.  Thanks everyone and see you next time!

Persona 4 Golden Review: A classic beautifully remastered!

HD Remakes are becoming an overpopulated category as of late, and now Atlus adds to this category with Persona 4 Golden for the PS Vita.  Does this version outdo the original?  Read on to find out.

Graphics:  Persona 4 is resurrected in beautiful high definition.  Atlus really did an impressive job in smoothing out the sometimes boxy pixellation of the original version.  New anime cut-scenes add to the enjoyment.  Score: 9/10

Gameplay:  The gameplay style of Persona 4 that fans remember returns in full fury.  Battles are quick and action packed, the dungeons are randomly generated and well designed.  The collection of Personas is more robust with new Personas added to the library or compendium.  The murder mystery storyline is among the best RPG story lines out there.  There is also TONS OF STUFF TO DO!  You battle creatures trying to save your friends from a horrible fate, while managing a student lifestyle on the side.  Everything from dating, to holding a job, even studying for mid-terms and final exams.  It’s all here in one terrific package.  Score 9.5/10

Sound:  Shoji Meguro does it again with this amazing soundtrack.  The catchy J-Pop music that plays during battles is addicting and doesn’t annoy a person in anyway even after 65 hours of gameplay (yes I have been playing for this long).  This is a soundtrack that will dazzle fans everywhere.  Score: 9.5/10

Issues:  Some people found the fact that there is so much to do in so little time in this game.  I only found this a reason to replay this amazing adventure and find those Personas.  Not to mention the hidden bosses in the game as well.

Final Score: 9.5/10

Did you enjoy Persona 4?  Do you like the Persona series?  I would love to hear from you!  Please leave me your feedback, and thanks again for reading and following my blog!  Until next time!

Playstation All Stars Battle Royale Review: Beat em up goodness, Sony style!

ImageHello everyone and welcome back to my blog!  Things at the office have been winding down and my Thanksgiving was very full of joy, and I hope the same for all of my fellow gamers out there.  For this reason I have been idle and I apologize, but fear not, for I have a double dose of blogging goodness for everyone.

We all know about the beat em up franchise that Nintendo has with the Smash Brothers series.  Well this time around Sony is bringing their version of the beat em up franchise to the table with the release of Playstation All Stars Battle Royale.  I was very excited about this title and finally I have played this title and finally have my review for all of you.

Graphics:  From the moment you turn this game on, it completely sucks you in.  The intro is amazing and it pumps you up for the experience.  The backgrounds are lush and very well executed based on numerous Playstation game worlds from God of War to Jak and Daxter.  The character roster is very impressive 20 character selection.  There are other characters that will be available for download in the very near future, one of which I know of from sources is Kat from Gravity Rush.  Score: 9/10

Gameplay: The gameplay is smooth and impressive.  Smash Brothers veterans will feel right at home with this title.  While Smash Brothers’ objective was to beat your opponent in order to raise their percentage rate and knock them off the screen, Battle Royale is much different. The objective is to simply beat your opponent to raise your super meter and when it’s charged up (level 1-3) then you use your leveled super technique to knock your opponent(s) off the screen.  Numerous trophies to acquire and different challenges make this a title that will be playable for the holiday season and way beyond.    Score 9.5/10

Sound:  The musical score of Royale is top notch.  I can’t get the intro and character select theme out of my head.  The character voice overs make a valiant return for this amazing title.  A great barrel of ear candy all around.  Score: 9/10

Issues:  There are a few issues with online gameplay including occasional boots offline.  This will hopefully be fixed by Sony in time.

Final Score: 9/10

Thank you to all my fellow gamers for reading my blog, and please be sure to follow my blog and tell your friends about my blog.  Let’s share the love.  Thanks everyone.

Final Fantasy classic is being remastered to HD!

ImageHello everyone, and welcome back to my blog.  Since the release of the Playstation 3, fans have been crying and pleading with Square-Enix to produce a remake of Final Fantasy 7.  Square-Enix has been avoiding this subject matter for quite a while, but they are bringing back a classic Final Fantasy title to HD for the Playstation 3 and PS Vita.  The chosen title is Final Fantasy X.

I feel your frustration everyone.  Why Square-Enix is prioritizing other titles over a Final Fantasy 7 remake is beyond me.  I think a remake of Final Fantasy 7 will really boost sales for them immensely.  So ladies and gentleman gamers, there you have it the remastered version of Final Fantasy X.  It will be the same game, only a lot prettier.  Graphics output on Playstation 3 or the OLED screen on the PS Vita, which ever way you go, you’re in for one amazing replay of a classic RPG.

No release date is confirmed as of yet.  So, I guess we’ll just wait until we see it pop up on the PSN.  Thanks for reading my blog and be sure to leave comments and feedback.

PSP Games I have deemed as treasure worthy.

Good evening everyone, and welcome back to my blog.  As many of you know I recently purchased a PS Vita, and I have been loving it ever since.  I can honestly say that of the several PSP games I have downloaded from the Vita, I have listed these as my top three.

1.  Final Fantasy 4: The Complete Collection- Anyone who enjoys a good classic RPG should not pass up this revamped classic.  With not only the original game remade, but also FF4 Interlude, and The After Years, this is a package well worth the price of admission.

2.  The 3rd Birthday:  The third installment of the Parasite Eve series.  Although the series veers away from the storyline of the first two it still delivers an action-packed experience with everyone’s favorite heroine Aya Brea.  Keep in mind though, this is not an easy journey.  The game is very difficult as Aya Brea is made to be very fragile and can die in one to three quick hits.

3. Legend of Heroes:  Trails of the Sky- A very nice change of pace in turn-based RPG Goodness.  With a good story, excellent soundtrack and good blend of protagonists this game will keep you busy for quite a while.

What are your favorite PSP titles?  I’d love to hear from you.  Thanks for reading and be sure to follow my blog.  Thanks!

PS Vita

ImageHello everyone, and welcome back to my blog.  The hand held console wars still continue to reign on.  In the left corner with the 3DS at it’s disposal the reigning champion, Nintendo!  In the right corner the challenger who is taking the handheld market by storm with the PS Vita, Sony!

So the question everyone is asking is, which hand held is the best?  I have been a hardcore Nintendo fan since day one but, since the release of the Nintendo 3DS I have been very unsatisfied with the system and the lineup of games.  I never thought there would be a better system, and then I played the PS Vita.

A lot of people are turned off by the price tag for the system and accessories.  I can proudly tell you that the money is well worth it.  From the moment I turned on the PS Vita I was hooked.  The launch lineup is not the best in the industry, but for those of you like myself who never owned a PSP it is well worth it.  I finally get to play some PSP titles that I never got to play like The 3rd Birthday.  So let me tell you hands down, the PS Vita is well worth it.  I spent the money, and I am not regretting it one bit.

Thanks for reading and be sure to follow my blog.  See you next time.

Dragon’s Crown Update

Hello everyone, and welcome to my esteemed blog.  For those of you who have been keeping up with my blogs.  I spoke about a particular VanillaWare title called Dragon’s Crown which was scheduled to be released for the Playstation 3 in the spring of this year.

There was a slight scare because the company that was going to release it originally had made a decision to scrap the project entirely.  Thankfully happy readers Atlus has decided to pick up the project and put it in the very capable hands of their team.  Atlus will be publishing this title for the Playstation 3 and PS Vita systems.  Both are slated for an early 2013 release, but things can change.  Let’s just be thankful that this title is still on the way.

Thank you for reading, and be sure to follow my blog.  As always, your comments and questions are more than welcome.
