Everyone remembers the days of Sega Saturn console system. Back in the day that system had some of the most impressive RPG’s in the market. Sadly with the revivals of so many classic titles coming out for the Playstation network and XBLA for download we can’t help but wonder why these titles have not been given the revival they deserve. These are the titles I believe deserve an ASAP revival. Click on each title to see gameplay footage.
Hopefully in time we will see a triumphant return of these great classics, but only time will tell.
See you Tuesday with my video review of Final Fantasy 13-2, and Soul Calibur 5.
As many of you probably know Capcom officially announced the sixth installment to what used to be an amazing survival horror franchise. Resident Evil 6 is officially on it’s way to the Playstation 3 and XBOX 360.
Now many new age gamers are probably jumping for joy, but in my honest opinion I am not excited about Resident Evil 6 in the least, and here is why.
Let’s take a trip back in time to when Resident Evil premiered in 1995 for the Playstation console. Remember that classic scene in the mansion where you’re walking down that long hallway, and suddenly CRASH! The dog jumps through the window and runs after you? Remember those days? I can’t tell you how high pitched my scream was that night. I give myself kudos for playing this game in the dark with a lit candle.
Since the days after Resident Evil Code Veronica I have seen this franchise turn away from it’s survival horror roots and lean towards a Gears of War aspect. This really disappoints me because a lot of game companies these days are so obsessed with pleasing new age gamers that they turn their backs on their original fans who helped them obtain the prestige they have today. Resident Evil is a survival horror game that is supposed to scare fans, and provide an action packed gaming experience all at the same time. Today the franchise seems to focus solely on creating an action game similar to Resistance and Gears of War.
I would love to hear everyone’s opinion on this upcoming title.

Thanks everyone and see you again soon.
So we are less than two weeks away before Square-Enix releases Final Fantasy 13-2, the follow up to Final Fantasy 13. When Final Fantasy 13 was released in 2009 it was impressive when it came to presentation, but it abandoned a lot of the traditional elements that have been cherished by long time fans of the series.
The demo of 13-2 was released for download on the PS3 and XBOX 360. There is already significant evidence that Square-Enix heard the outcries of their fans, and made very noticeable changes. The biggest change being the issue of extreme linearity of Final Fantasy 13.
Upon completing the demo you are shown several clips of location selections, slot machine mini-games, and…CHOCOBO RACING!
Well everyone I want to know what you think of this upcoming title release. Do you think Square-Enix will be able to do damage control with 13-2?
Thanks for your input, and see you soon.
A very happy new year to one and all. I’m sure we have all looked back on 2011, and of course we have all made our new year’s resolutions. Why not make playing new and awesome video games part of that list of resolutions. Here are my top three most anticipated titles for 2012.
#1- Final Fantasy XIII-2 Console: Playstation 3, XBOX 360
As many of you already know Final Fantasy 13 was not very well received by their fans when it was released last year. The biggest complaint being the extreme linearity of the game. There were little to no side quests, which made the game seem too short and scripted. Square-Enix however promised that the entire world of Final Fantasy 13-2 will be completely open for the players to explore. This will be a nice change of pace, but will it be able to make up for the lost ground left by it’s predecessor? Tune in for my review when the game is released for Playstation 3 and XBOX 360.
Release Date: January 31, 2012
#2- Soul Calibur 5 Console: Playstation 3, XBOX 360
Soul Calibur has been pretty dormant since the release of Soul Calibur 4, but as always Namco answers the cries of their fans, and brings to us the fifth installment in the amazing fighting game franchise to kickstart the new year. With new characters, a deep involved storyline, and in depth character customization this will be the most anticipated Soulcalibur title yet. Oh, and in case I didn’t mention this to all the Assassin’s Creed fans out there Ezio will be a guest character in both versions of the game. So take down your katana, chain whip, kunai dagger, and or claws (Voldo fans) sharpen them up and take to battle at the end of this month.
Release date: January 31, 2012
#3- Tales of Graces Console: Playstation 3
For a lot of fans of the Tales RPG series this will be an exhilarating breath of fresh air. Namco has officially announced the release date for the first Tales game for Playstation 3 entitled Tales of Graces. XBOX 360 was the first HD Console to receive Tales of Vesperia in 2008, which was an amazing game, but Playstation 3 fans felt cheated that they never received an exclusive Tales title. Well Playstation 3 fans can stop waiting. Tales of Graces is shaping up to be an impressive title, and being a Tales fan myself I am super excited about this title especially the fact that the game without the side quests and extra content spans over 50 hours. Sorry everyone but this is a game I will be looking out for, and hopefully you will be too.
Release date: March 13, 2012
I will keep you updated with more news and reviews. Until next time everyone!
